A vocational education and training centre

The project aims to construct and equip the first two three-classroom blocks of the Tuwapende Watoto Vocational Education and Training Centre. The three-year project will provide six month training courses in baking and two–year training courses in horticulture and tailoring to over 50 students. The training courses will combine theory and practice. Graduates who successfully complete their course will be provided with additional support in the form of tools and micro-credits to enable them to set up their own business, or will be assisted in gaining employment, to enable youths to become self-reliant. The Vocational Education and Training Centre classrooms will also be used in the evenings and on weekends to host English and Information Communication Technology courses for adults.
